Dr Friel finds the process of coming to the correct diagnosis and seeing an evidence-based treatment work, the most rewarding part of medicine. He loves that as a doctor he will never be bored, uninterested or finished in his work or study.
When not at the surgery you will find Dr Friel playing one of the many musical instruments he has mastered, it might be the guitar, bass, banjo or even the harmonica.
